The Downtown Universe

The Downtown universe is the setting for my cyberpunk stories. The place names are different and the geography is a bit mix-and-match, but the world is a miserable future version of our own. Most stories will take place anywhere from 30 to 150 years from now. Some may take place next week, some may take place in the next millennium.

Downtown is a place for me to explore ideas of what the near future could be like if society continues to decay into dystopia. Because each idea may have its own needs, the continuity between storylines is loose. In some cases, there will be no continuity between stories at all. One story may end the world, another may save it. To keep the reader from becoming confused: when stories are not intended to share continuity, they won't share key characters either.
